Mission Statement
The purpose of KODACHROME is to provide, expose and support a network for those who garner an interest for dance across the Eastern region of the United States.
Brief History
It all started in December 2008 when individuals from the Tidewater region of Virginia wanted to get together and dance. Money was pulled and a studio was rented for a couple of hours during winter break. Three pieces were taught by friends who just wanted a chance to teach their choreography. Every one eagerly learned and was excited that locally, there was a lot of talent that needed to be exposed. The first KODACHROME workshop was held in January 2009, hosted by Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. From then on, the mission was to Expose the True Colors of Dance throughout

1 Support student achievement,

3 Encourage creativity, and
4 Promote healthy lifestyles.
The Baltimore Dance Crews Project will be a training ground for students, choreographers, and club advisors. We see an after-school dance program and team at every Baltimore City public high school. At each school, students will receive leadership training, academic support, and exposure to dance. Students will also have the opportunity to create their own dance teams as a way to showcase their hard-work and talent. The Baltimore Dance Crews Project will provide the support, training, and resources necessary for school staff to be effective club advisors. Participating choreographers will be trained to work with youth while growing artistically in their craft. In addition, as students, choreographers, and advisors develop professionally we also strive to serve the community and unite the people of Baltimore in creating a better environment for its youth.
